Da Silva signed up

Clips from our new striker... he looks a bit scrappier and more like a finisher than our other forwards. Rumours are that we shelled out over 20 million euros for the Brazilian-Croat. Let's hope 34 goals in the Croatian season doesn't lie.

Some of that goalkeeping looks a little worrying (Paul Robinson anyone?). On the plus side in an era where football is increasingly more international, Arsenal can now claim to be even less English than other teams. Not content with signing foreigners, we now sign foreign-foreigners. Huzzah!

You'd have been better off with Dec. Seriously, £16.25m for that? He looks a bit lightweight to me and can't even grow a proper moustache. Seeing as he's only ever played in a very poor league (man alive, some of the defending on those clips is atrocious) and changed nationality because he knew he would never be good enough to play for Brazil that fee seems a tad steep.

Ah. Seems the fee has dropped since I last looked on the BBC website. You can't beat thorough journalism, eh? A veritable bargain in that case then!

Yes, 24 year-olds should be properly mustachioed... it's in keeping with the current team's general lack of (inabilty to grow) facial hair.

We still need one more striker (Anelka before Martins, please), for when Adebayor runs off for the African Cup of Nations. And who knows how Da Silva will deal with this league (lest we forget the example set by the Beast).

I reckon da silva will grab 12-14 goals this season. Most likely Van Persie will be top scorer. But Anelka would be welcome (another African striker would seemingly not make sense).
