Italy 2 France 0 highlights

Bye bye Claude and Lilian. Not taking Sagna and Clichy is looking rather silly now eh Raymond? Still, at least that cuckold Giuly wasn't around.

Sagna injured non?

You don't need Clichy if you have Evra.

I reckon you do - Clichy is a better defender than Evra and a damn site better than Abidal. Sagna was pretty much back to fitness by the time the tournament rolled around.

Ah, the Gooner bias. Not sure Clichy has done enough yet to be deemed better than Evra. Maybe one day...

Clichy was the best, most consistent left-back in the league... I accept that his one, lonely error all season (against Birmingham) was particularly bad and did cost us the season, but there's no way you can leave a player of his quality out of a creaking French team that proved to be short of commitment and quality - both which super Gael has in spades.

As does Evra, the best left back in Europe. But agreed Clichy should have been in the squad, for all the difference it would have made. Maybe he has the wrong star sign.

who were the germans playing at left back before they put lahm there? he was surely The Worst Left Back In Europe. i could've beaten him, and i can't dribble for toffee.

Marcell Jansen. It wasn't so much the tackling as the positioning. Even worse than Gomez or Odonkor.

I reckon Lahm and Ronaldo might produce as titanic a struggle as Cashley and CR did 4 year ago.
